“ All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt. ”

Charles M. Schulz, American cartoonist and creator of the comic strip ‘Peanuts’

Mr. Schultz, as well as his friends Charlie Brown and Snoopy, might or might not find love in the Columbia Basin, but they definitely will find chocolate in the form of Chukar Cherries, Adams Place Country Gourmet, and A Little Fudgy.

Although cacao trees are a rarity in the rolling hills of the Columbia Basin, most other vegetable and fruit crops of significance to man’s culinary delights are comfortable and prospering in the fertile soil and under the almost never-ending Eastern Washington sunshine. Slicing, dicing, chopping, straining, blending, and freezing are some of the world’s most innovative food processing companies, creating some of the world’s most delectable delicacies.
